work ended only at 6.45pm on friday. shall remember to write that down in the timesheet.
after work nessa and i literally had to rush to bottle tree village, where we were supposed to have our dinner. holy moly. the place (jalan mempurong in sembawang) was horribly ulu.
the premises was quite accomodating. and we ordered
1. steamed white pomfret teochew style2. chicken fried in prawn paste3. prawn omelette
alas! the food was just reminiscent of the food you find in normal
zi char stalls in the heartlands! so much for the experience. nessa and i both resolutely decided that we would not come back anymore.
apparently ulu-ness + distinctly average food helped make up our mind pretty quickly. =)
the verdict? Bottle Tree Village you suck.
now! the way out was pretty fun! i drove into lots of unexplored trails. we encountered
1. a couple fucking in their car. (nessa said the car was rocking i think)2. lots of dead ends where i had to make lots of tight 3 point turns
i really wanted to get down and knock on the car window and then check out the expression on their faces. i think the guy will go limp in 2 seconds flat. but nessa didnt allow me to!
she's the one with the head screwed on properly anyway. im the crazier one.
oh well!
after that we spent an hour driving along mandai, looking for Upper Seletar Reservoir. total waste of petrol, but the view was awesome! it was bright and breezy and you could see all sorts of lightning streaks across the sky. not to mention the countless number of stars when you looked directly into the sky.
that spells a-w-e-s-o-m-e!
anw the police car came on their routine checks. we left just as they left and they started following us. i think they suspected us of doing something illegal.
like sitting in the car catching our breath. they really have nothing better to do. they followed us for a good 20mins. from mandai-yishun-upper thomson. if you think it was just a coincidence. hear this.
1.when i slowed down, they slowed down
2.when i changed lanes to the outermost lane, they followed suit.
3.when i changed back to the middle lane to let them pass, they passed me and then they went to the innermost lane. so they could slow down and let me pass.
4.we repeated this tiresome process for the duration of their pursuit.
it wasnt even fun at all! it could have been better if it was a high speed pursuit but i didnt want to risk speeding. that would give them the ultimate opportunity to pull me over. so i just drove like a careful old man. never going past 70kmph.
i think getting my license revoked and getting jailed for sitting in the car catching our breath. that would be utterly stupid.anyhow, they finally decided that we were harmless and gave up. i think nessa enjoyed the whole thing though. she was tired but she was constantly helping me look in the mirrors! =)
awesome girl. its tough on the driver(me) though, having to check in the mirrors for the entire god damn process.
anyway we got home really dead beat. but we had a great night!
ciao!
