everybody has his/her own favourite family routine. some might be mundane, some might be super fun! i know which category mine belongs to! let me tell you a story. go brew yourself a cup of coffee/tea, whichever you prefer. coke for me if you would please. now relax!
=)
alright. i reckon the start of every family routine would be rather much similar. we wake up all fresh and hyped up in the morning. everybody's in a rush, fighting over the washroom, deciding what to wear and everybody is HUNGRY! when all the preparation work is done and dusted, what time is it? its time to pack ourselves silly in the family car and head for breakfast!
my sister usually falls asleep in the car whereas im tuned in to the radio and looking at where we're heading. ( im a driver too you see ). she gets all blurry eyed when we reach the hawker centre! ( we're foodies, we like to travel around to eat! )
breakfast is usually an half hour long love affair. =) after breakfast its nap time for my sister again. then its off to wherever we're heading.
most of the time, we'll meet up with the rest of the family. i have a huge and close knit family! 13 grandchildren including me. so you can imagine how messy it gets sometimes. the afternoon will be fun filled and you wont be surprised to hear guffaws emanating from the adult side. i used to play w the children, now as im getting older, i talk more with the adults. guess it comes with the age. IM OLD IM OLD!! =)
as time flies by, tea time is usually a quiet affair, sandwiches all round and maybe some light refreshments, then.. its play time again! apparently children have boundless energy.
dinner usually comes quickly. and all of us pile into the cars again. we switch cars sometimes, so the children can continue playing. dinner is usually spent at a restaurant where we regularly stuff ourselves silly with 10 course meals. hey. of course its scrumptious! with the ridiculous amount of silly money we pay, we make sure its yummy-licious. dont be surprised when we ring up a bill upwards of 500$!! oh yes we do!
sadly, after dinner its time to head home, the children are usually knackered after such a long day and they're all bleary-eyed before they even pile into the car.
its such times which makes me glad to be part of such a huge and yet cosy family. the best family i can ever ask for. this has got to be MY favourite family routine.
would i swap it for anything else in the world?
you bet i wont. =)
