the other day when i had little to do at work, i embarked on a cleanup mission. i read through my older posts. (read: really old. like from 3 years back) i was appalled! the kind of rubbish English that i used to post my entries. i guess it was the transition from secondary school that caught me.
while reading through, i felt those memories run by. some were dope, some were bad. i kept the really memorable ones though. the rest just went into the excesses of cyberspace with a click of my mouse.
to date i have alr deleted close to some 130 entries? considering the fact that it took me more than 3 years to hit 300+ entries. which is equivalent to about 100+ entries a year? thats bad. and slow. i think in this year alone. im about to hit the 100 post mark. and its only june! so yeah. pat on the back for me.
i also realised while cleaning up, how much ive grown. from a naive kid of 16-17 to a much more grownup and mature young adult at 20. on hindsight. maybe i shouldnt have deleted any posts. now i dont have anything to reflect back on. but hey. no regrets. i still have the bulk of the 2006 and 2007 entries intact for me to look back on and laugh.
i think ive talked too much about that. let me diss my work a little.
i simply dont understand why some singaporeans can be so cheapskate. and troublesome. lucky draws really bring out the worst in them. they queue up over and over again just to win some cheap prizes. i gotta tell you though.
some lucky draws are rigged! during the roadshow that rednano held 2 weeks ago. i saw more than a few cases of people who queued in line for more than 4 times? just to win. a freakin lanyard? a freakin post-it pad? this is damn stupid. granted yes, the chance of winning a better prize is there. but to overdo it? thats simply disgusting. it left a bitter taste in my mouth. the older generation can be really really kiasu.
granted the younger generation might be a little. willingly or unwillingly. im sure ive been guilty of it in the past. but i sure dont encourage this kind of erratic behaviour! i mean. to waste your time in queue when you can be doing something else?
oh i forgot. the favourite pastime of Singaporeans is queuing. they queue just for the sake of queuing. they queue for no apparent rhyme or reason. i dont even want to mention those people from classifieds who go to the lengths just for a miserable 1gb thumbdrive. i mean. are you that hard up?
my goodness. how i wish they can cleanup their act. what exactly do you gain from being cheapskate anyway.
oh well. enough of ranting. on a happier note.
at least the baby and i are getting closer as the days go by. im sure she knows it too. the intimacy is there, the trust is there, the communication is there, the dependency is there.
im definitely pleased, so to say, that she's an ever growing part of my life.
